It’s been a warm, sunny day out at the field with our Lynch Creek Farm crew planting tubers! The good news first: we’ve officially planted the U-Pick field. Both sides of the field, running all the way to the bottom, are filled with beautiful new and returning dahlia varieties. Our amazing team worked diligently, carefully checking every single tuber to ensure it’s healthy, has an eye, and is ready to grow.
That brings us to the tough part. As some of you know, farming can be incredibly unpredictable. From winter storage challenges to changing weather and soil conditions, every variable matters. This season, we had to dip much deeper into our tuber sale reserves than expected. In fact, more than we ever have before.
So, it’s with real disappointment that we have to officially confirm there will be no tuber sale this year. After our first cancellation, we did a full recount and truly thought we were in the clear, but during planting today, we found more loss than anticipated (finding rotting tubers is always a bummer). Our top priority is ensuring a full, healthy field of blooms for everyone to enjoy this summer.
Even though we won’t have tubers available, we will have Dwarf Alberta Spruce trees for just $5 and our gorgeous Large Hanging Baskets for only $39.95 (these baskets are a steal at this price!).
We’d love to see you out here for some trees and baskets (address for the modified sale will still be 130 E Export Rd, Shelton, WA 98584). Then, in a few months, we’ll see you in the field when the dahlias bloom for the 2026 U-Pick Season. Each year, we learn something new from these kinds of obstacles. Thank you so much for your understanding.
